Job Description

xAI is seeking a Construction Engineer to design and construct natural gas power plants for its AI infrastructure. The role involves leading projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to specifications, safety standards, and timelines. This is a critical role for building the initial plant in Memphis and future sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead construction of natural gas power plants
• Review and refine designs for constructability and safety
• Manage contractors, suppliers, and vendors
• Supervise on-site construction activities
• Support commissioning and testing of power generation systems
• Identify and mitigate construction risks
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Lead construction of future power plants
• Maintain project documentation and reporting

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Construction Management
• 5+ years of experience in construction engineering focused on industrial or power generation projects
• Proven track record in managing large-scale construction projects
• Familiarity with power generation systems and industry standards
• Strong project management skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Flexibility to travel up to 50%
• Ability to work in active construction environments
• Must pass background check and participate in drug and alcohol program
