Job Description

xAI is seeking a highly-motivated Controls Engineer to support the operation, design, and optimization of their advanced data center infrastructure. This role involves maintaining stability and efficiency of systems powering AI research, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring smooth system operation through management and upgrades.

Responsibilities

• Implement and modify BMS, EPMS, and SCADA systems
• Oversee operation of chillers, pumps, and power distribution using PLCs
• Prepare specifications for HMI graphics
• Implement and maintain automated controls for fire safety and ESOP
• Develop a reporting dashboard to monitor operational trends
• Coordinate with utility providers for demand and grid responses

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Controls, Computer Science, etc.) or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience as a Controls Engineer with industrial control systems
• Ignition SCADA Programming Experience
• Siemens TIA Portal PLC Programming Experience
• Ability to work evenings and weekends
• Physical ability to stand, work in tight spaces, lift 10-15lbs, and tolerate noise
