Job Description

xAI is seeking a Datacenter Operations Technician to maintain the health of their server and network infrastructure. The role focuses on minimizing downtime (MTTD and MTTR) and requires a detail-oriented individual who is accessible for emergencies and contributes to improving server intake and repair processes.

Responsibilities

• Report to job sites during construction
• Troubleshoot and monitor servers and network infrastructure
• Rack and stack data center network equipment
• Maintain warehouse inventory and asset management
• Label and troubleshoot fiber/optics cables
• Perform power supply cabling, installation, troubleshooting, and repair
• Install racks, servers, and switches
• Manage and resolve data center operations tickets
• Create and maintain documentation
• Manage receipt and decommissioning of hardware
• Handle vendor returns
• Manage spare parts inventory
• Define and implement network layouts

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency
• 2+ years of experience with server, storage, compute, and network hardware
• 2+ years of experience troubleshooting and repairing servers and networking infrastructure
• 2+ years of experience in inventory management
• Ability to lift up to 35lbs
• Comfortable working at heights and in noisy environments
• Availability to work evenings and weekends
• Pass pre-employment drug and background checks
