Job Description

xAI is seeking a Facilities Operations Technician to operate and maintain critical facility systems in their supercomputing data centers. This role involves hands-on work with MEP systems, troubleshooting, process optimization, and collaboration to ensure peak performance and reliability, supporting xAI's mission of advancing AI for scientific discovery.

Responsibilities

• Ensure site safety and environmental compliance
• Provide operational expertise for MEP systems
• Inspect areas and proactively report facility problems
• Write and execute MOPs, SOPs, EOPs
• Perform daily inspections of critical systems
• Maintain spare parts inventory
• Coordinate system shutdowns
• Develop energy monitoring metrics
• Support commissioning efforts

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or 7+ years of experience
• Knowledge of mechanical or electrical engineering principles
• Experience with critical systems documentation
• Experience with Building and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Experience with PLC-based control systems or Building Management Systems
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work flexible shifts
• Valid driver’s license
