Job Description

xAI is seeking a Fiber Foreman to oversee the installation and maintenance of critical fiber optic systems at their Memphis data center. The role involves leading a team, ensuring network infrastructure reliability, and contributing to the company's mission of advancing AI-driven scientific discovery.

Responsibilities

• Oversee datacenter installation projects and daily work assignments
• Provide on the job training and direction
• Ensure a safe and productive work environment
• Develop sensor indicators and conduct inspections
• Troubleshoot, resolve, repair, and install fiber optics systems
• Examine and replace faulty fiber optic cables
• Organize scheduled maintenance routines
• Perform fiber splicing and rectify problem areas
• Track signal strength of devices
• Maintain system records and designs

Requirements

• 2+ years of team management experience (preferably data center cabling technicians)
• 3+ years of direct data center experience with optical fiber installation
• High school diploma or equivalency
• Ability to lift up to 35lbs
• Comfortable working at heights (up to 50 feet)
• Ability to work evenings and weekends
• Must pass pre-employment and random drug/alcohol testing
• Must pass pre-employment and annual background checks
