xAI is seeking a Mechanical Engineer specializing in HVAC and chilled water systems to design, analyze, and implement advanced mechanical systems for their state-of-the-art facilities. The role involves working onsite with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure efficient, reliable, and scalable infrastructure, optimizing systems, and driving sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Lead/participate in design meetings for chilled water systems
• Conduct feasibility studies and develop specifications
• Oversee design and construction, including permitting
• Assist in installation, ensuring compliance with standards
• Provide guidance on system integration
• Manage maintenance schedules
• Troubleshoot chilled water issues
• Analyze and forecast cooling needs
• Implement energy efficiency strategies
• Assist in project management
• Coordinate with vendors and departments
• Ensure compliance with regulations
• Promote a safe working environment

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred)
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• 5-7 years of experience in data center operations
• Expert knowledge of chilled water system design and construction
• Expertise in HVAC systems
• Proficient with CAD tools (AutoCAD or Revit)
• Strong project management skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Certifications like ASHRAE are a plus
