xAI is seeking a Power Generation Engineer to oversee the operation and optimization of natural gas power generation plants powering their AI supercomputer, Colossus. The role involves ensuring reliable, high-efficiency power delivery to a state-of-the-art AI datacenter and contributing to advancements in AI technology.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of natural gas turbines and power generation equipment
• Monitor and analyze power generation systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Conduct maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades
• Develop energy efficiency strategies
• Lead root cause analysis
• Ensure regulatory compliance
• Mentor junior engineers

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related)
• 5+ years of experience in power generation with natural gas plants
• Strong understanding of turbine operations and control systems
• Proven troubleshooting skills
• Familiarity with safety protocols and industry standards
