Job Description

xAI is seeking a Systems Engineer to design, deploy, and optimize large-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS) powering AI training superclusters. The role involves end-to-end lifecycle management, ensuring high availability and maximizing efficiency of Tesla Megapack platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical, mechanical, and thermal integration of BESS
• Develop control strategies and firmware logic
• Perform capacity modeling and degradation analysis
• Commission systems and implement predictive maintenance
• Collaborate with Tesla Energy teams
• Ensure compliance with industry standards
• Drive root-cause investigations

Requirements

• BS or MS in Electrical, Mechanical, or Energy Systems Engineering
• 5+ years in utility-scale BESS or industrial power systems
• Hands-on experience with lithium-ion systems ≥10 MWh
• Proficiency in power system modeling tools and control programming
• Demonstrated project management ability
• Willingness to be on-site in Memphis
