xAI is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to join the Monetization Team, responsible for driving revenue through X Premium, X Verified Organizations, and the Creator Revenue Sharing Program. The engineer will design and build scalable systems for subscriptions, user growth, and creator monetization, impacting millions of users and businesses.

Responsibilities

• Design and build subscriptions infrastructure
• Develop growth systems for user acquisition and retention
• Create innovative products for users and businesses
• Build algorithms to support creators
• Lead technical decisions on architecture and scalability
• Collaborate with product, infrastructure, and compliance teams
• Uphold engineering excellence through testing and deployment

Requirements

• 5+ years in backend or systems engineering
• Expertise in distributed systems
• Builder mentality in fast-paced environments
• Strong communication skills
• Revenue-minded approach
• Experience with payments, subscriptions, or creator monetization (bonus)
• Familiarity with growth engineering (bonus)
• Prior work in fintech, social platforms, or startups (bonus)
