Job Description

xAI is seeking a Lead Grok Engineer to work directly with end customers, leading teams to own strategy and execution of high-stakes projects. This role involves delivering end-to-end solutions, improving model performance, building internal tooling, and collaborating with clients and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver end-to-end solutions for customers
• Benchmark models and write evaluations
• Improve model performance through tuning
• Generate synthetic or human data
• Analyze request logs and prompt data
• Build internal tooling for automation
• Improve xAI SDKs and documentation
• Work with prospects and customers to demonstrate xAI value

Requirements

• 4-12 years of software engineering experience
• Full stack background with product architecture understanding
• AI/ML product implementation experience with APIs
• Expertise in prompt engineering
• Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to turn ideas into engineering solutions
• Understanding of HTTP protocol
• Strong engineering background (Computer Science, Mathematics, etc.)
