xAI is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join the X Money team, focused on building a revolutionary global payment network. The role specializes in backend development, designing and optimizing microservices for scalability, security, and reliability, while collaborating with cross-functional teams on payments, fraud detection, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize microservices using Go, Postgres, and Kafka
• Collaborate on system architecture, testing, and monitoring
• Build internal tools using frontend technologies
• Support risk mitigation and align with engineering, product, and compliance teams
• Contribute to secure, scalable systems for financial data
• Iterate rapidly on feedback to deliver high-quality solutions

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with backend focus
• Proficiency in Go or similar languages
• Experience with databases (e.g., Postgres) and streaming systems (e.g., Kafka)
• Familiarity with distributed systems for high-scale environments
• Knowledge of handling secure financial data
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
