xAI is seeking a highly motivated engineer to build best-in-class Coding Agents, focusing on an AI-first software engineering stack. The role involves working across the LLM stack to deliver a superior product experience, collaborating with the research team, and optimizing model behavior and user satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Build best-in-class Coding Agents
• Work across the LLM stack (reasoning, RL, product building, dataset generation, evals)
• Collaborate with the research team
• Drive model development and feedback loops
• Optimize model behavior and user experience

Requirements

• Strong communication skills
• Strong prioritization skills
• Experience in developer tooling (preferred)
• Exceptional engineering skills
• Understanding of large language models (preferred)
• Knowledge of software developer tooling (preferred)
• Located near Palo Alto or open to relocation
