xAI is seeking a Member of Technical Staff - HCI / Model Designer to bridge the gap between AI models and user experience. This role focuses on designing intuitive interfaces, organizing information, innovating agent transparency, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance how users interact with AI systems.

Responsibilities

• Enhance user interactions through intuitive interface design
• Develop strategies for structuring and presenting AI-generated content
• Innovate on agent transparency through visualization techniques
• Rapidly prototype new HCI features and iterate based on user feedback
• Collaborate with engineers and product teams to integrate HCI principles

Requirements

• Proven track record in HCI, UX design, or related fields
• Hands-on experience building or fine-tuning AI models
• Skills in software engineering (Python, React)
• Experience conducting user studies and A/B experiments
• Creative problem-solving skills and a strong aesthetic sense
• 3+ years in fast-paced environments
