Job Description

xAI is seeking a highly motivated Member of Technical Staff to build frameworks for improving reasoning capabilities, develop distributed reinforcement learning systems, and optimize inference-time compute techniques. The role involves ownership of components across the entire stack and requires strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Build robust and scalable distributed RL systems
• Optimize frameworks for complex inference-time reasoning
• Develop environments and harnesses for agents
• Solve and take ownership of components across the entire stack

Requirements

• Experience with large-scale reinforcement learning systems
• Designing and implementing distributed systems
• Knowledge of state-of-the-art RL and inference time compute algorithms
• Proficiency in Python, JAX, and Rust
• Strong communication skills
• Located in the Bay Area or open to relocation
