Job Description

Apollo.io is seeking a Principal AI Engineer to lead the design and deployment of cutting-edge agentic systems, AI assistants, and LLM-powered features. This role is pivotal to Apollo’s AI roadmap, owning the architecture and productionization of intelligent systems that power the workflows of thousands of GTM teams globally.

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead the development of multi-agent systems
• Build reusable agentic components for sales and marketing processes
• Own and evolve the in-house platform for LLM and agent deployments
• Lead design of interfaces powered by natural language understanding
• Build embedding-based search and personalization systems
• Drive innovation in personalized outreach generation
• Tune inference pipelines for high-scale performance
• Define and drive robust offline and online testing methodologies
• Architect human-in-the-loop systems and telemetry

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, 3+ years in applied LLM/agentic AI
• Proven success deploying LLM-powered products at scale
• Deep backend & systems engineering expertise with Python
• Familiarity with LangChain, LlamaIndex
• Experience with RAG pipelines, vector DBs, embedding models
• Experience managing performance across cloud providers
• Demonstrated experience building multi-step agents
• Strong understanding of AI system evaluation and experimentation
• Experience designing safety-aware LLM systems
• Principal-Level Ownership and AI-Native Mentality
