Job Description

Life360 is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to drive growth by solving real-world problems in a fast-paced environment. This role focuses on optimizing and enhancing user experience and creating new growth opportunities through data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling for their location-based safety solutions and devices.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with firmware and hardware teams
• Optimize data sampling, preprocessing, and inference pipelines on constrained devices
• Mentor data scientists and analysts
• Design experiments to collect labeled training data
• Improve device usability and member experience
• Contribute to patentable IP and ML roadmap
• Research and Innovation in data science and machine learning

Requirements

• Bachelor’s in data science, computer science, statistics, or related field
• 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist
• Experience in ML models for time-series, signal processing, or embedded systems
• Strong background in consumer hardware/device data
• Expertise in ML for personalization, anomaly detection, and predictive modeling
• Experience building pipelines for device data
• Hands-on experience with sensor data
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Python, Pandas, Scikit-learn
• SQL and Spark
• Experience using Databricks
