Life360 is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to enhance and modernize their data platform infrastructure, contributing to a robust and secure data system. The role involves designing, implementing, and managing scalable data processing platforms, automating workflows, and collaborating with various teams to unlock the full potential of data.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage scalable data processing platforms
• Build and manage core data infrastructure from ingestion to storage
• Automate, test, and harden data workflows
• Architect logical and physical data models
• Collaborate with stakeholders
• Develop systems for distributed real-time analytics
• Implement strategies for acquiring data
• Mentor junior engineers

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience with high volume data infrastructure
• Experience with Databricks, AWS, ETL, and job orchestration tooling
• Proficiency in Python or Java
• Experience in data security, governance, quality, and cost management
• Proficiency with SQL, AWS, Databases, Apache Spark, EMR, and Kinesis/Kafka
• Experience with Agile, CI/CD, and automated deployments
• Knowledge of lakehouse architecture and modern data platform tech stacks
• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent
