Job Description

Life360 is seeking a Principal Product Manager to own the full spectrum of developer experience, building both internal APIs and tools for engineering teams and an external platform for third-party developers. This role involves defining the vision, strategy, and roadmap for developer touchpoints, fostering a thriving developer ecosystem, and ensuring a seamless experience for both internal and external developers.

Responsibilities

• Champion world-class developer experience
• Define and lead the vision and roadmap for developer experience
• Partner with Engineering and Design to ship platform features
• Drive platform reliability, scalability, and performance
• Understand developer needs through engagement and data analysis
• Establish developer education programs
• Own the external developer program strategy
• Drive ecosystem growth metrics
• Collaborate with Business Development and Legal on partnerships
• Own platform observability strategy
• Align with Support and DevRel teams for support infrastructure
• Foster a culture of ownership

Requirements

• 8+ years of product management experience in developer platforms or technical infrastructure
• Dedicated developer platform experience
• Deep technical fluency in API design, SDK development, and authentication
• Proven developer advocacy skills
• Exceptional communication skills
• Hands-on developer background
• Experience with API-first companies is a plus
• Experience building both internal and external platforms is a plus
• Developer program management experience is a plus
• SaaS/mobile/location-based services experience is a plus
