Job Description

Multiply Labs is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design consumable components for robotic systems used in cell therapy manufacturing. The role involves leading design phases, detailed CAD work, analysis, prototyping, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize designs for bioprocesses and robotic systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead concept ideation phases
• Detailed design work in CAD
• Investigate applicable technologies
• Analyze designs for loads, tolerance, manufacturability, and material compatibility
• Prototyping, material selection, and testing
• Collaborate with Biology, Product, and Robotic Software teams
• Generate design documentation and manufacturing instructions
• Oversee transition to production manufacturing
• Lead technician pilot builds
• Machine and robot end effector design

Requirements

• Extensive mechanical design experience with bioprocess consumables and/or medical devices
• Proven problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of mechanical components, metals, plastics, and fabrication methods
• Experience optimizing manufacturability using DFM/DFA principles
• Experience transferring designs to suppliers
• Extensive experience with 3D CAD software
• Extensive experience with injection molded part design
• Working knowledge of GD&T standards
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 5+ years of engineering experience
