Job Description

Multiply Labs is seeking a Staff Mechanical Engineer to apply their expertise and leadership skills to design complex automated machinery for manufacturing novel pharmaceutical products. The role involves designing and building robotic systems, optimizing designs, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to drive decision-making and transition designs to production.

Responsibilities

• High level ownership of system design
• Lead concept ideation
• Detailed CAD work
• Investigation of applicable technologies
• Prototyping, testing, and iterating designs
• Generation of design documentation
• Oversight in transition to production
• Analysis of designs including deflections and tolerance stack ups
• Controls and actuator sizing
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software
• Mechanical design experience developing production ready machine designs
• Solving complex technical problems
• Knowledge of mechanical components and fabrication methods
• Optimizing manufacturability using DFM/DFA principles
• Transferring designs to external suppliers

Requirements

• Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering
• Experience designing and building automated production machinery
• Industrial experience developing robot EOATs
• Working knowledge of GD&T standards
• 6-8+ years experience in mechanical design engineering
