Job Description

Waabi is seeking a Fleet Readiness Lead to lead and mentor a team responsible for the maintenance, reliability, and uptime of their autonomous truck fleet. This role involves developing training programs, overseeing inspections and repairs, collaborating with engineering teams, and ensuring a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Fleet Maintenance Technicians and Vehicle Reliability Engineers
• Develop training programs for technicians and engineers
• Foster a culture of safety and compliance
• Oversee inspections, maintenance, and repair activities
• Ensure effective diagnostics and root cause analyses
• Collaborate with engineering teams on improvements
• Support issue investigations related to software and hardware
• Lead troubleshooting efforts for fleet-wide issues
• Standardize technical reporting and documentation
• Establish preventative maintenance programs
• Work with engineering, operations, and safety teams
• Communicate key performance metrics to leadership

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in fleet operations, vehicle maintenance, or related fields
• Strong leadership experience managing technical teams
• Proficiency in troubleshooting vehicle systems
• Familiarity with Linux-based diagnostics and CAN systems
• Experience with autonomous vehicle systems is desirable
• Solid understanding of computer networking
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field preferred
• Technical certifications are a plus
• Valid driver’s license
