Job Description

Waabi is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer to lead the creation, documentation, and verification of behavioral system requirements for their self-driving technology. This role involves driving safety culture, improving simulation capabilities, and streamlining requirement processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead creation and verification of behavioral system requirements
• Act as central contact for behavioral requirements
• Drive safety culture through safety standards
• Define improvements for the simulator
• Own documentation and linking of requirements, tests, and executions
• Evaluate and enhance behavioral evaluation capabilities
• Implement tools to streamline requirement processes
• Work with external partners on data gathering

Requirements

• Undergrad required, Masters or PhD preferred in engineering
• 7+ years of automotive, robotics, or related industry experience
• Experience with driving behavior evaluation metrics
• Experience building complex driving scenarios
• Experience with STPA, SOTIF, and/or UL 4600
• Strong fundamentals in mathematics, engineering, and physics
• Excellent communication and data analysis skills (Python or Matlab)
