Job Description

Bright Machines is seeking an experienced Engineering Director to lead all manufacturing engineering functions at a modern electronics manufacturing facility specializing in server assembly, box build, and rack-level integration and testing. This role will own cross-functional engineering activities to drive operational excellence, scalability, and innovation, building and shaping the engineering organization as part of a next-generation model factory.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and scale a multi-disciplinary engineering team
  • Lead and mentor engineering teams
  • Develop and implement engineering strategy
  • Drive a culture of ownership and continuous improvement
  • Own process design, optimization, and control
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles
  • Manage site-level industrialization of new products
  • Partner with OEMs/customers to ensure manufacturability
  • Lead development and deployment of test systems
  • Implement preventive and predictive maintenance systems
  • Identify opportunities for production automation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in related engineering field
  • 10+ years of engineering leadership experience in electronics manufacturing
  • Proven track record managing teams in box build and system assembly
  • Strong background in test engineering and process validation
  • Experience with NPI processes and customer collaboration
  • Familiarity with MES, SPC, and lean/Six Sigma
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
