Varo is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to develop innovative machine learning models impacting millions of users in the fintech space. The role involves collaborating with experienced scientists and stakeholders to solve problems in fraud detection, risk modeling, personalization, and causal inference.

Responsibilities

• Develop production-grade ML algorithms
• Leverage large data sets and modern modeling techniques
• Work with stakeholders to identify opportunities for ML
• Collaborate with engineering to deploy models and monitor outcomes

Requirements

• Advanced degree in a quantitative field
• 4+ years of experience as a Data Scientist or Machine Learning Scientist
• Experience applying statistical techniques to large data sets
• Proficiency in Python (numpy, pandas, scikit, nltk, matplotlib)
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Strong bias for action and team player
