Job Description

Varo is seeking a strategic General Manager of Lending to lead and grow their lending portfolio. This executive role will be responsible for the P&L, credit policy, risk governance, and portfolio management of Varo's credit products, driving expansion and customer growth while maintaining regulatory integrity.

Responsibilities

• P&L Management and Business Growth
• Credit Policy, Risk Governance, and Regulatory Oversight
• Active Portfolio and Performance Management
• Define Lending Product Roadmap
• Oversee Lending Product Roadmap execution
• Optimize capital efficiency
• Monitor credit metrics
• Mitigate operational risk
• Lead and mentor a team

Requirements

• 12+ years of progressive leadership in consumer lending
• 5+ years managing a significant P&L
• Expertise in regulated banking (OCC, FDIC)
• Ownership of a Credit Policy Framework
• Strong understanding of CECL standards
• Ability to build and scale credit products
• Exceptional collaboration and communication skills
