Job Description

The Senior Corporate Counsel will determine and resolve legal issues related to structuring, financing, funding, and implementing reforestation projects globally, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. This role reports to the General Counsel and requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Advise business and finance teams on global forest project developments
• Support international practices and ensure legal compliance
• Advise on land tenure and rights
• Lead due diligence and risk assessment
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial and legal documents
• Ensure compliance with legal regulations and environmental policies
• Develop and maintain legal policies and procedures
• Assist with legal disputes and manage outside counsel

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
• 5+ years of experience in project finance or project development
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Highly detail-oriented and able to manage multiple legal matters
• Strong business acumen
• Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment
