Octopus Energy is seeking a Software Engineer II to help build a smart, sustainable energy system. The role involves tackling complex design and technical challenges in the US energy market, processing large volumes of data, and contributing to a company fighting climate change.

Responsibilities

• Solve difficult design challenges related to US energy market domain modelling
• Handle processing of millions of meter readings daily
• Develop robust and fault-tolerant software
• Contribute to a machine learning pipeline for consumption prediction
• Ask better questions and create value

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional Python software development experience
• Django and Django REST Framework experience
• Experience with HTTP and REST APIs
• Knowledge of Celery and async processing
• Postgres experience
• Legally able to work in the USA
• Good communication skills
• Interest in technology and problem-solving
