Job Description

Cloud Chamber is seeking a Principal Technical Animator to craft realistic character rigs and pipelines, collaborate with animation and programming teams, and push the creative and technical boundaries of their projects. The role involves solving technical problems and bringing characters to life in a richly imagined world.

Responsibilities

  • Align objectives with stakeholders and develop scalable solutions
  • Craft advanced character rigs and systems for Unreal Engine
  • Implement characters and features within Unreal Engine
  • Create and oversee a character rigging pipeline and toolset
  • Mentor team members on rigging and tooling best practices

Requirements

  • 8-10+ years of professional experience in 3D rigging and character technology
  • Experience as a Lead or Principal Rigger on a shipped AAA title
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Expertise in scripting languages like Unreal Python API and/or C++
  • Mastery of deformations, FK/IK systems, and blend shape creation
  • Proficiency with industry standard DCC tools
  • Solid knowledge of Maya Python API
  • Experience supporting cross-discipline teams
  • Understanding of human kinesiology and anatomy
