Visual Concepts is seeking a Principal Engineer with a passion for server-side development to join the NBA 2K team. This role involves ownership across a broad technical landscape, leveraging expertise in distributed systems and large-scale computing to build high-performance backend services for a popular sports game franchise.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to backend architecture and services
• Design and optimize distributed systems
• Build and maintain large-scale computing solutions
• Develop efficient database structures and queries
• Deliver high-performance backend services
• Partner with engineering and design teams

Requirements

• 12+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong proficiency in C++
• Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages
• Deep understanding of distributed and scalable systems
• Experience with multithreaded programming
• Leadership in technical direction
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Experience with secure transaction systems is a plus
• Skilled in database optimization
• Familiarity with online gaming architectures
• Working knowledge of SQL databases
• Video game console development experience is beneficial
