Job Description

The Senior Operations Engineer will determine system reliability transfer limits, assist in reviewing NYISO facilities, develop engineering studies, and provide recommendations to internal functions and Market Participants. This role involves participation in NERC, NPCC, and NYISO study groups to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the power system.

Responsibilities

• Perform system studies (seasonal, NERC, NPCC)
• Analyze system events and disturbances
• Support Regional Market Coordination
• Maintain electric power system models
• Review NYISO facilities and practices
• Evaluate computer simulation programs
• Prepare technical documentation
• Advise engineers and provide technical support
• Participate in committees and working groups
• Provide oversight to Associate Engineers
• Maintain electric power system model in IDC

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred)
• Seven years of related experience
• Proficiency in Power Flow/stability software (PSS/e or PSLF)
• Knowledge of power systems
• Ability to analyze and interpret business periodicals
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Proficiency in Windows and MS Office
