Job Description

BillionToOne is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to support clinical patient testing in their CLIA/CAP lab. The role involves developing and maintaining process monitoring tools, building compliant scale-up procedures, validating process changes, leading cross-functional efforts, and mentoring junior engineers. The focus is on improving assay performance and expanding into the oncology space.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategies for commercial volume growth
• Build tools for statistical process control
• Mentor junior engineers
• Plan studies to identify critical process parameters
• Translate assay data into process monitoring tools
• Develop data handling tools
• Evaluate external technologies
• Apply six sigma and design-for-quality frameworks
• Troubleshoot and re-qualify instrumentation
• Identify root causes of process errors

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biology, bioengineering, or related sciences
• 5-6 years of experience with molecular biology techniques
• Proficiency in R and/or Python
• Proficiency in data handling and database querying
• Strong statistical analysis skills
• Experience designing controlled studies
• Experience with GMP, ISO, or regulated environments
• Excellent attention to detail
• Effective communication skills
• Experience mentoring
