Job Description

The Data Center Operations Tier II Technician will manage and maintain all aspects of data centers and critical facilities, utilizing standard operating procedures for routine maintenance and optimization of building systems. This role involves coordinating with technicians, support staff, vendors, and contractors to ensure high availability, security, and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate maintenance with vendors
• Troubleshoot data center equipment
• Install servers and network devices
• Facilitate new client service installations
• Receive and document shipments
• Lead data center tours
• Coordinate rack and cage design
• Maintain knowledge of infrastructure
• Respond to alarm events
• Follow Change Control processes
• Ensure operational efficiencies
• Share technical knowledge
• Participate in on-call rotation

Requirements

• Two-year technical degree or 5-8 years equivalent experience
• Proficient in wiring types (Ethernet, Phone, CAT6, Fiber)
• Experience with data center maintenance
• Familiarity with telco equipment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience monitoring electrical systems
• Knowledge of data center cooling systems
• Ability to multitask and prioritize
• Strong communication skills
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to document policies and procedures
• Experience with building management systems is desired
