Job Description

The Sr. Principal Software Engineer - Analytics & Data will serve as an architect and visionary leader, responsible for the overall design, strategy, and implementation of our analytics and data platform. This role will encompass all aspects of data engineering, analytics applications, and infrastructure, driving innovation, scalability, and performance across the entire ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead the architecture and strategy for Coupa’s analytics and data platform
• Design and implement robust, high-performance data pipelines
• Oversee development of advanced analytics tools
• Establish best practices for data modeling, orchestration, monitoring, and governance
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship
• Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver secure, scalable solutions

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in Data and Software Engineering within B2B SaaS
• Deep expertise in big data (Spark, Kafka), cloud platforms (AWS), and orchestration tools (Airflow, Luigi)
• Proven track record in architecting large-scale data platforms
• Strong background in SQL, NoSQL, database optimization, and API-driven microservice architectures
• Skilled in AI/ML applications for predictive analytics
• Effective technical leader and mentor with a strong focus on data governance
