Job Description

Coupa is seeking a strategic Director of Technical Accounting to own the integrity of financial statements and drive global technical accounting strategy. This role involves expertise in U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations, collaboration with senior leadership, and management of complex accounting challenges.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical accounting matters (M&A, debt, equity, impairment)
• Draft and review technical accounting memos
• Partner with external auditors
• Govern global accounting policy library
• Monitor and adopt new accounting pronouncements
• Lead accounting for M&A activities
• Drive process improvements for financial reporting
• Advise cross-functional teams
• Provide support for ad hoc projects

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; active CPA license
• 8+ years of progressive experience, 4+ in Big 4
• Deep expertise in U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations
• Proven ability to resolve complex accounting positions
• Leadership and project management skills
• Strategic thinking and analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience with financial systems (Workiva, NetSuite) is a plus
