PointClickCare is seeking a Principal Applied Scientist/Researcher in Natural Language Processing with a strong AI and Machine Learning background to develop cutting-edge solutions for the healthcare market. The role involves applying NLP techniques, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and performing research to deliver responsible AI solutions at scale.

Responsibilities

• Apply NLP and AI/ML techniques to develop model systems
• Collaborate with product, clinical, and engineering teams
• Design, build, and evaluate solutions for healthcare use cases
• Perform research and experimentation on algorithms and frameworks
• Perform data collection, cleaning, and model evaluation
• Provide mentorship on AI, NLP, and machine learning methods
• Lead research and experimentation to select appropriate approaches

Requirements

• PhD or equivalent experience in a related field
• 4-10+ years industry experience in commercial SaaS
• 4+ years experience in NLP, Search, or AI/ML for healthcare
• Expert-level experience in Natural Language Processing
• Experience with transformer models and various ML techniques
• Proficiency in Python and Java
• Experience building and deploying AI/ML models for large-scale SaaS products
• Experience with big data processing frameworks
• Experience using public cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud)
