Job Description

The Database Reliability Engineer (DBRE) is responsible for managing, building, maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting the cloud-based MySQL database infrastructure. This role focuses on automation and coding to reduce operational toil and collaborates with Engineering and SRE teams to ensure reliable database integration.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain cloud-based MySQL database infrastructure
• Automate tasks to reduce operational toil
• Ensure database performance and reliability
• Support Engineering and SRE teams with database needs
• Tune performance and improve availability
• Troubleshoot and analyze root causes of database issues

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience with relational database systems
• Strong MySQL experience
• 1+ year in a DBRE or database-focused engineering role
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Coding and automation skills (Python, PowerShell, SQL)
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Ansible, Terraform)
• Experience with Git
• Experience with VLDBs (1+ TB)
