Job Description

Zeta is seeking a Data Reliability Engineer II to proactively monitor and maintain the performance, availability, and security of PostgreSQL RDS instances and related data pipelines. The role involves troubleshooting issues, automating tasks, and participating in on-call rotations to ensure data integrity and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Monitor PostgreSQL RDS instances for performance and resource utilization
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in PostgreSQL RDS
• Monitor Debezium and Kafka Connect connectors
• Monitor Apache Nifi data flows
• Provide support for data related issues and root cause analysis
• Monitor Apache Airflow DAGs
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and infrastructure as code
• Participate in on-call rotations
• Implement and maintain database security best practices
• Audit database security configurations
• Configure and manage database backup and recovery strategies
• Analyze database query performance
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
• Assist in the design and optimization of database schemas

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• 3-5 years of experience in database administration with PostgreSQL
• 1-2 years of hands-on experience with PostgreSQL RDS
• Familiarity with data pipeline concepts like Debezium, Kafka Connect, and Apache Nifi
• Basic understanding of Amazon Redshift and S3
• Exposure to Apache Spark and Airflow
• Strong SQL scripting skills
• Knowledge of database security best practices
