Job Description

Drivemode is seeking a Staff Mobile Software Engineer to contribute to the architecture and technical vision for a line of companion apps and backend services for Honda and Acura electric vehicles. The role involves developing multiplatform apps, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving system design and architecture.

Responsibilities

• Develop multiplatform vehicle companion app using Kotlin Multiplatform, Jetpack Compose, and SwiftUI
• Partner with product managers, designers, and backend engineers
• Engage in product definition and design discussions
• Lead technical discussions and architecture reviews
• Define technical vision and roadmap
• Drive system design and architecture
• Break down complex problems into development tasks
• Build prototypes
• Advocate for unit and integration testing
• Design APIs and SDKs
• Lead observability of non-functional requirements
• Support engineering development lifecycle processes

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience with customer-facing app development
• Team player with a positive attitude
• Experience creating readable and maintainable code
• Experience with asynchronous programming, multi-threading, dependency injection, and reflection
• Mentor other engineers
