Job Description

Tenable is seeking a Senior Research Engineer to join their security research team. The role involves researching vulnerabilities, developing detection checks/plugins, and interfacing with stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have strong C/C++ programming skills and experience with tools like Wireshark and Shodan.

Responsibilities

• Conduct complex research and development
• Implement advanced detection logic
• Participate in detection logic discussions
• Interface with stakeholders
• Train other researchers
• Develop detection scripts for Tenable’s sensors
• Research detection methods for other vendors’ products

Requirements

• 5+ years of R&D experience
• Strong C/C++ programming skills (Perl/Python preferred)
• Experience with Wireshark/Shodan
• Experience with Linux
• Understanding of security vulnerabilities and protocols
• Reverse engineering experience
• Experience with pen-testing and vulnerability research
• B.S. in Computer Science or related field
• Security related certifications (e.g. OSCP)
