Job Description

SmithRx is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer with hands-on experience in building and managing cloud-based infrastructure. The engineer will be responsible for development cycles in integration/continuous deployment mode, process monitoring, and constructing a safety culture within the DevOps practice, supporting a rapidly growing user base.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain container based infrastructure
• Deliver end-to-end automation of deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure management
• Collaborate to identify and carry out effective solutions
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines
• Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure issues
• Collaborate with developers on scalability, reliability, and security
• Maintain systems and infrastructure availability
• Explore new technologies and best practices
• Install, configure, test and maintain systems
• Develop custom scripts for system efficiency
• Evaluate application performance and develop solutions
• Maintain security program controls and HIPAA compliance
• Make pragmatic decisions about technical tradeoffs
• Participate in on-call rotations

Requirements

• 5+ years of DevOps experience
• BS or advanced degree in computer science or related field
• Experience deploying and monitoring web applications in AWS
• Experience with product development and operations teams
• Security first mindset
• Experience with container based infrastructure and Kubernetes
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform a plus)
• Experience with infrastructure automation, systems reliability, load balancing, monitoring, logging
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (CircleCI and GitHub Actions)
• Experience in regulated environments (GDPR, HIPAA)
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Strong scripting skills (shell scripts, Perl, Ruby, Python, Go, Groovy, Helm)
