Quizlet is seeking a Staff Platform Engineer to join their Platform Engineering team, focusing on database systems, performance optimization, and data reliability. The role involves contributing to the full infrastructure stack and ensuring high availability and resilience of their learning platform.

Responsibilities

• Develop infrastructure automation for high availability
• Diagnose and resolve database performance issues
• Design and implement caching strategies
• Manage infrastructure using Terraform and Kubernetes
• Deploy instrumentation for monitoring
• Provide architectural consulting and review designs

Requirements

• 5–8 years of database engineering experience
• Deep MySQL expertise
• Proficiency with Cloud Spanner, Postgres, and/or BigQuery
• Experience with Redis/Memcached
• Kubernetes and Terraform experience
• Strong coding skills in Python or Go
• Experience with GCP database services and Datadog
