Job Description

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a Design Release Engineer to lead the design, development, and release of rear vehicle closure systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure performance meets requirements for function, safety, and manufacturability.

Responsibilities

• Lead backlight and liftgate system design release
• Develop component and subsystem specifications
• Create and maintain DVP&R, DFMEA, ECO/ECR documentation
• Conduct design reviews with CAE/FEA teams
• Interface with Tier 1 suppliers and manufacturing
• Manage engineering change requests
• Support prototype builds and production launches
• Lead root-cause analysis for field issues
• Monitor schedules, budgets, and program risks

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
• 5+ years of experience in automotive closures or body systems
• Proficiency in mechanical CAD (NX, CATIA), GD&T, sheet-metal processes
• Experience with DFMEA, DVP&R, ECR/ECO processes, BOM/EBOM, and PLM systems
• Ability to work cross-functionally
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
