Job Description

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to drive Design for Serviceability (DFS). This role involves evaluating product design for ease of service, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and identifying tooling needs to improve product maintainability and reduce costs.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to drive Serviceability
• Evaluate part and assembly design for hand clearance, tooling clearance, ergonomics, and feasibility
• Develop service part release strategy and maintain the Service BOM
• Work closely with engineering teams to integrate components and electromechanical systems
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers on new product iterations
• Identify the need for specialized tooling and guide the tooling team
• Participate in requirements definition related to service, availability, and reliability
• Provide cost/time modeling to drive product change
• Work with the technical writing team to establish the repair process

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 4-6 years of engineering experience
• Experience in mechanical engineering within a product design and manufacturing environment
• Experience designing and developing products through the lifecycle
• Ability to design for a wide range of fabrication and manufacturing processes
• Experience with product and process validation
• Tooling and/or equipment design experience
• Detail-oriented with proven documentation skills
• Strong 3D CAD experience, CATIA a plus
• Ability to work autonomously
