Job Description

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking an innovative Mechanical Technician with a strong mechatronics background to join their Robotic R&D Team. The role involves bridging mechanical design with electronic systems integration and driving project development from concept to completion in a dynamic R&D environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop solutions from initial conceptual direction
• Mechanical design and development of electro-mechanical systems
• Create 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software
• Develop Jigs and fixtures for testing/validation
• Collaborate with electrical and software engineers
• Support research staff with hardware changes
• Rapid prototyping with iterative cycles

Requirements

• BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 5+ years experience in mechanical design with mechatronics focus
• Ability to convert abstract ideas into engineering solutions
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks)
• Experience with actuators, sensors, and control systems
• Ability to work in a rapid R&D environment
• Experience in wire / cable manufacturing
• Understanding of coding languages like C++ and python
• Ability to install, maintain, and troubleshoot actuators and sensors
