Job Description

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer with strong experience in automotive testing, validation, materials, and laboratory operations. The candidate will be responsible for creating and executing DVP&R plans for multiple OEMs, conducting a wide range of material, paint, mechanical, and environmental tests. This role requires autonomy and strong technical knowledge of materials and adhesives.

Responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and execute DVP&R plans
• Define test plans and validation strategies
• Coordinate with OEMs for compliance
• Conduct material, paint, mechanical, and environmental tests
• Develop and validate test fixtures
• Assess adhesive tape performance
• Set up, run, and document tests
• Ensure compliance with standards

Requirements

• Mechanical Engineer with 3+ years of automotive experience
• Hands-on testing background
• Strong understanding of plastics, coatings, adhesives, and paint processes
• Experience with external laboratories
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of lab equipment and validation processes
• Knowledge of international norms and standards (ISO, ASTM, DIN, SAE, OEM-specific)
