Job Description

The Mechanical Designer role assists engineering staff in designing components, parts, and assemblies, and creating engineering drawings, change orders, and bills of materials. The role involves collaborating with engineers and manufacturing personnel to create and modify designs, document changes, and manage documents through a configuration management system.

Responsibilities

• Designs mechanical parts, components & assemblies
• Creates and reviews engineering drawings and documents
• Analyzes manufacturing tolerances and fabrication methods
• Applies geometric dimensioning and tolerance
• Specifies materials, finishes, and workmanship callouts
• Documents design changes
• Updates bills of materials

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• 4-7 years of related experience with mechanical design and drafting
• Proficient with SolidWorks EPDM and SolidWorks CAD
• Competence in designing composite aerospace structures
• Experience with electro-mechanical systems, mechanical assemblies, and composite parts
• Understanding of industry design & documentation standards (GD&T, ASME)
