Heartflow is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead teams building cloud applications for their AI-driven cardiac test products. This role focuses on scaling high-performing teams, driving strategic direction, and ensuring technical excellence in a regulated healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering leadership and a passion for revolutionizing precision heartcare.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow engineering teams
• Drive quarterly and long-range planning
• Ensure high quality and predictable velocity
• Hire, develop, and retain engineering talent
• Manage algorithm development, visualizations, and report generation
• Mentor engineering managers
• Provide technical leadership in medical device software
• Collaborate with product, clinical, design, and research teams
• Evolve system architecture and ensure cross-team alignment
• Contribute to design when appropriate

Requirements

• Proven experience managing managers and leading engineering teams
• Track record of successful planning and execution
• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• Experience in UI/UX-driven development and data visualization
• Practical experience with MLOps and cloud-native development
• Solid understanding of software development best practices
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Experience with medical applications or regulated industries
• Experience with cloud-based infrastructures
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• 8+ years of relevant industry experience
• 5+ years in engineering leadership
