Job Description

Heartflow is seeking a Staff Platform Engineer specializing in Compute Migration to lead the effort of migrating existing AWS Lambda and ECS workloads to a next-generation Kubernetes platform. This role involves designing, implementing, and governing the transition of critical workflows, ensuring performance, cost, reliability, and security within a Kubernetes environment.

Responsibilities

• Define technical roadmap for Lambda/ECS to Kubernetes migration
• Develop automated solutions for event-driven workflows on Kubernetes
• Manage Kubernetes infrastructure using Terraform/Terragrunt and Helm
• Partner with engineering teams for workload requirements and best practices
• Benchmark migrated services and optimize resource utilization
• Establish best practices and documentation for Kubernetes compute

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Platform/Infrastructure/DevOps Engineering
• Expert proficiency in Kubernetes
• Deep experience with AWS Lambda and ECS/Fargate
• Proven experience migrating workloads to Kubernetes
• Strong background in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
• Proficiency with containerization (Docker) and CI/CD practices
• Excellent communication and technical leadership skills
