Job Description

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a Senior Techno-economic Analyst to develop models evaluating the financial viability and commercial desirability of fusion power plants. The candidate will collaborate with internal teams, support business development, and contribute to communicating the benefits of fusion energy to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop techno-economic modeling for fusion power plants
  • Assess ARC pricing and go-to-market approaches
  • Track ARC competitiveness compared to other energy solutions
  • Model economic impact of power plants
  • Support project level analysis
  • Expand economic modeling to foreign markets
  • Collaborate with R&D, Engineering, and Finance teams
  • Refine cost estimates with procurement
  • Identify risks and mitigation strategies
  • Provide feedback to R&D and engineering
  • Evaluate new R&D opportunities
  • Support investor relations and business development

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, Economics, Math, Physics or related field
  • Exposure to energy systems
  • Experience with quantitative analysis and probabilistic models
  • Experience in cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Understanding of industry metrics (LCOE, overnight capital costs, IRR)
  • Knowledge of thermodynamics and engineering fundamentals
  • Strong organizational abilities
  • Reliable work ethic
  • Adaptability to a start-up environment
