Job Description

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to lead weekend operations, ensuring the safe and efficient production of high-temperature superconducting magnets. This role involves technical mentorship, rapid problem-solving, bridging communication between shifts, and providing direct line support in a fast-paced, first-of-a-kind manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical mentorship and training to technicians
• Troubleshoot and resolve non-conformance issues
• Escalate critical issues to Subject Matter Experts
• Act as a feedback loop between weekend and weekday teams
• Maintain line rhythm and ensure seamless shift hand-offs
• Red-line work instructions and drive change requests

Requirements

• BS in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of hands-on manufacturing engineering experience
• Proficiency with NX (CAD) and Teamcenter (PLM)
• Experience with Jira, Slack, and Odoo or similar ERP systems
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Dedication to safety protocols
